Solidarity with Africa ?
Arche communities are present on all the continents. Each community lives the economic, social and cultural realities of its country. These differences are a real source of richness to be nurtured. In particular, the differences between our Western European communities and those of the African continent. The term 'solidarity' is to be understood as a dynamic of exchange e.g. the cultural and spiritual wealth that the countries of Africa can offer us. In exchange, in the industrialized West we know a greater material prosperity; it is good to be able to share our resources, so that African communities can live!
Online sharing Return to homepageIf we imagine a mountain valley, at the bottom of which a torrent is pouring with an almost deafening noise, we may wonder from where all this energy comes. And to discover the source we have to return to the mountain top. There, in the summer months the snow melts into drops of water that form small brooks, each feeding into what becomes a torrent. In the same way we can visualise sharing our goods: if a large number pay a regular contribution - be it a small amount - then the African communities will have anough to live. Small brooks become big rivers!
